Container Condition Guide
Condition classifications describe structure and function — not cosmetics. This guide explains what each classification means and what variation is normal, so the unit that arrives matches what you expected.
New / One-Trip
A new or one-trip container has generally completed one initial cargo movement from its manufacturing origin. Minor handling marks, paint abrasions, dents, floor marks, or other transportation-related cosmetic evidence may still be present.
Premium Used
A premium used unit is selected for comparatively better overall appearance and function. It may still show previous use, repainting, repairs, dents, surface corrosion, patches, markings, or colour variation.
Cargo-Worthy
A cargo-worthy classification indicates that a qualified inspection supports the container's suitability for cargo transport at the time represented. Certification and inspection dates are shown where the product is advertised for transport use.
Wind and Watertight
A wind-and-watertight container is intended to prevent ordinary wind and water entry through its doors, roof, and wall structure under normal storage conditions. This classification does not automatically confirm cargo transport certification.
Storage Grade
A storage-grade unit is intended for stationary storage and may have more extensive cosmetic wear, repairs, corrosion, or operational limitations. The listing explains known material issues.
As-Is / Final Sale
An as-is container is sold in its disclosed condition without a voluntary condition upgrade. Material known defects are described, and the listing clearly states that the product is final sale except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Common Misunderstandings
- Premium Grade does not automatically mean CSC certification.
- Wind and Watertight does not automatically mean cargo worthiness.
- New does not mean completely blemish-free.
- Used does not mean structurally defective.
- Storage Grade does not mean transport suitability.
