Shipping and Delivery Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
This Shipping and Delivery Policy applies to products purchased from AO Container Lines Inc. through aocontainerlines.com, by invoice, or through another authorized AO Container Lines Inc. sales channel.
1. Order processing
Standard orders are normally processed within one to three business days after:
- Payment has been authorized or cleared
- The order has passed any applicable verification
- The selected product is confirmed
- Required customer information has been received
- Delivery or pickup requirements have been confirmed
Wire-transfer orders do not enter active processing until the funds have cleared into the designated AO Container Lines Inc. account.
Custom, modified, special-order, incoming, or project-specific containers may require a different processing schedule. Any different schedule will be stated on the product page, quotation, invoice, or written order confirmation.
2. Estimated delivery time
After standard order processing is complete, delivery is generally estimated to occur within five to ten business days.
For a standard order, the combined estimated processing and delivery period is therefore normally six to thirteen business days from the point at which payment and all required information have been received.
These periods are estimates unless AO Container Lines Inc. expressly provides a guaranteed date in writing.
Delivery timing may depend on:
- Product availability
- Depot location
- Customer location
- Delivery distance
- Carrier availability
- Vehicle type
- Required unloading method
- Site accessibility
- Permits or local restrictions
- Weather
- Road conditions
- Port, rail, or terminal conditions
- Custom work
- Order verification
3. Business days
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and holidays observed by AO Container Lines Inc., its financial institutions, depots, or transportation providers.
4. Delivery quotations
A delivery quotation is based on the information provided by the customer, including:
- Delivery address
- ZIP code
- Container size
- Quantity
- Site photographs
- Road access
- Gate dimensions
- Overhead clearance
- Surface conditions
- Unloading requirements
- Preferred placement
- Door orientation
A quotation may be revised when the information supplied is incomplete, inaccurate, or materially different from the actual delivery conditions.
No revised charge may be imposed without disclosure to the customer.
5. Customer site responsibilities
Before delivery, the customer must ensure that:
- The delivery address is accurate
- The site is legally available for delivery and placement
- Any required permits or approvals have been obtained
- The access road can safely accommodate the delivery vehicle
- Gates and access points are sufficiently wide
- There is adequate turning and maneuvering space
- The surface is stable, level, and capable of supporting the container and vehicle
- Overhead wires, branches, structures, and other obstructions have been identified
- The placement area is clear
- A responsible adult or authorized representative is present where required
- The requested door orientation has been communicated
- Animals, people, vehicles, and equipment are kept clear of the operating area
AO Container Lines Inc. and the delivery provider may decline to enter or unload at a location that appears unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible, or likely to damage property, equipment, the container, or the delivery vehicle.
6. Failed or obstructed delivery
When delivery cannot be completed because of inaccurate customer information, unsafe conditions, inadequate access, absent customer representatives, unprepared placement areas, or other circumstances within the customer's control, the customer may be responsible for reasonable:
- Waiting time
- Redelivery
- Storage
- Return transportation
- Repositioning
- Additional equipment
- Carrier charges
Any charge must reflect an actual or reasonably incurred cost and will be disclosed before a new delivery attempt is scheduled.
7. Delivery inspection
The customer or an authorized representative should inspect the container at delivery.
Visible transportation damage, a materially incorrect product, or a material condition discrepancy should be:
- Noted on the delivery documentation
- Photographed
- Reported to AO Container Lines Inc. as soon as reasonably possible
Reports should include:
- Order number
- Customer name
- Delivery address
- Description of the concern
- Photographs or video
- Delivery documentation
Prompt reporting helps AO Container Lines Inc. investigate carrier or product issues. It does not eliminate rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
8. Delivery delays
AO Container Lines Inc. will use commercially reasonable efforts to meet the estimated delivery period.
Delays may result from circumstances including:
- Severe weather
- Flooding
- Fire
- Natural disasters
- Road closures
- Traffic restrictions
- Port or rail interruption
- Labour disruption
- Government action
- Carrier shortages
- Transportation equipment breakdown
- Crane, truck, chassis, or trailer failure
- Civil disturbance
- Utility interruption
- Supplier delay
- Product damage discovered before dispatch
- Unsafe delivery conditions
- Other events outside reasonable control
When AO Container Lines Inc. learns that an order cannot be shipped or delivered within the stated period, it will notify the customer, provide available information about the delay, and provide a revised estimated date.
Where required, the customer will be given the opportunity to:
- Consent to the revised schedule; or
- Cancel the affected unshipped product and receive an applicable refund
AO Container Lines Inc. will not treat customer silence as unlimited consent to repeated delays.
9. Partial delivery
When an order contains multiple containers or products, AO Container Lines Inc. may propose separate delivery dates. Partial delivery will not be made when doing so would materially change the customer's cost or project without the customer's agreement.
10. Pickup orders
Pickup is available only when specifically offered and confirmed.
Customers arranging pickup must:
- Schedule the pickup
- Use suitable transportation equipment
- Comply with depot requirements
- Provide required identification and order documents
- Ensure that their carrier is qualified
- Secure the load properly
- Observe applicable transportation requirements
Risk of loss for a customer-arranged pickup passes after the product has been loaded onto the customer's or customer's carrier's equipment, subject to rights that cannot be waived.
11. Title and risk for delivered orders
Title transfers only after payment in full.
For AO-arranged delivery, risk of loss generally passes after the container has been unloaded at the agreed delivery point and the customer or representative has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect the delivery.
12. Delivery-area limitations
Delivery availability depends on product location, customer location, carrier coverage, site conditions, and applicable restrictions.
The presence of a product on the website does not automatically guarantee delivery to every address.
